Emily Dreibelbis
Tech Journalist, PCMag
About Me
I am a Chicago-based journalist and emerging tech reporter for PCMag, with a focus on electric vehicles and artificial intelligence.
Using my background in product management at Amazon, I can comfortably cover a wide range of tech and business topics.
My approach balances support for innovation with the skepticism required to build tech that improves our physical and mental wellbeing.

Other Fun Stuff
Even though I specialize in EVs and AI, I always make time to explore other topics based on my interests and current events.
My Background
I’ve lived all over the US: born in New Jersey, childhood in Minnesota, college at Columbia in NYC, then out to LA, Seattle, and now Chicago.
Journalism is my second career. I spent my early years as a product manager at Amazon. I had a fulfilling career there, growing from individual contributor to manager as I oversaw the development of dozens of new technologies. But I wanted to explore something else, and journalism was always in the back of my mind.
In the fall of 2021, I moved from Seattle to Chicago to enroll in Northwestern’s Masters in Journalism program (Medill). After earning my degree, I began full-time at PCMag.
Outside of work, I enjoy visiting museums (history major), playing soccer, teaching myself guitar, and exploring new restaurants.
